The timeline

The Earliest People

Indigenous people lived here a long time, from around the 500s all the way up to the 1700s.

This tribe was associated with Safety Harbor culture, most likely the Tocobaga.

They lived how you think they did. By living near the Anclote river, they had access to all the needed resources.

After Spanish contact in the 1500s, disease and labor wiped out most of the tribe!
